DEATH SENTENCES NOW SHIPPING
We had a great book release party at the Horrorfind convention for DEATH SENTENCES: TALES OF PUNISHMENT AND REVENGE. Gary Braunbeck's introduction and Deena Warner's artwork have added a turbo boost to sales and reviews.
So far, it's been reviewed by Horror World, Horror Fiction Review, Really Scary, G-Pop Network, Craig's Book Club, Horror-Web, Feo Amante, and Rue Morgue Magazine, and it has been almost universally well received. All the reviews are archived on my website. Here's a couple of my favorite blurbs:
"While he may still be a relative newcomer to the world of horror lit, author Matthew Warner stakes a claim in the genre with DEATH SENTENCES. Unlike most short fiction offerings, this brief but darkly compelling collection hits all the right notes and hits them hard."
-- Rue Morgue Magazine
"DEATH SENTENCES does not have one dull moment and is a fantastic primer for an author I'm sure we are about to see much bigger things from."
-- Horror Fiction Review
"Prose shouldnt be this eloquent when showing you something this hideous."
-- Really Scary.com

CHANCE TO WIN 1-OF-1 LIMITED/SIGNED/HAND-BOUND BOOK
Every year, Mrs. Warner sends out a free Halloween greeting card featuring an original piece of artwork. Since this is the cards' fifth year, I'm teaming with her to offer something special.
When Deena's done with this year's image, I'm going to write a short story to accompany it. One random person who's on her mailing list will win a hardcover book of the story.
Only one copy of the book will ever be made. It will be hand-bound and illustrated by Deena and signed by both of us.

RECOMMENDED READING
As always, I've been reading a lot of great (and not so great) books. I thought you'd be interested in the great ones:
THE ARCANUM, novel by Thomas Wheeler
CREEPERS, novel by David Morrell
****************************
"Some things I learned at Horrorfind: Matthew Warner has the softest hair I've ever felt on a man's leg. It's not to say I've felt a lot of men's leg hair (not that there's anything wrong with that), but Matt's is really goddamn soft. Also, he and I have decided that we're no longer interested in using the word 'horror' to describe the genre; we're going to be 'terrorists' from here on out."

Mind," http://www.livejournal.com/~deadscrypt/
