DO HORROR MOVIES MAKE US VIOLENT KILLERS?

My latest column at Horror World explores the question, "Do Horror Movies Make Us Violent Killers?" It's basically a review of Lt. Col. Dave Grossman's book On Killing, which succeeded in libeling the horror movie industry along with its (unfortunately) influential indictment of video game violence in 1995. You can read it here: http://horrorworld.org/columns.htm

Other recent columns have been "Things Learned at the Citizen’s Police Academy" and "The Audition," which tells how I met my mother-in-law.

COLLABORATION WITH GARY BRAUNBECK SELLS TO CUTTING BLOCK PRESS

A short story I wrote with award-winning writer Gary A. Braunbeck has sold to the forthcoming Horror Library anthology from Cutting Block Press. "Under the Bridge Downtown" is about a man haunted by the ghost of handicapped daughter, who died a grisly death. This project started when Gary told me how disturbed he is by the shadows underneath interstate bridges. What might live there, so to speak? The story will be published sometime next year.
